Thank you for visiting my website. My name is Vyacheslav Velychko, I am an orthopaedist and traumatologist and I am working now at the municipal hospital of Boryspol, a small town near Kiev. Every day I see about 50 patients. Due to the lack of necessary surgical instruments and equipment, it's impossible to provide a qualified medical service to the patients. I can't operate on the patients because the hospital doesn't have an arthroscopic and other necessary orthopaedic equipment. The only thing I can do there is to put plaster casts, then to make injections into joints, aspirate some liquid there or to inject a medicine. I can also make debridements and prescribe conservative treatment to the patients with traumas and joint diseases.
The hospital of the town of Boryspol is about 20 km from Kiev and 7 km from the International airport "Boryspol". It has got surgical, trauma, neurological, paediatric and reanimation departments as well as a polyclinic for seeing outpatients. The hospital provides medical service for the area with 170 000 people.
The hospital has got out-of-date medical and diagnostic equipment. The hospital doesn't have such important medical equipment as MRT or a computer tomograph. Because of that we have to send a lot of our patients to Kiev for proper diagnostics and surgical treatment as we can't give the first medical aid to the patients with serious orthopaedic, surgical or neurological pathologies. This leads to the fact that many patients die during their transportation to Kiev regional hospital situated at a distance of 60 km, which sometimes takes 2 or 3 hours because of heavy city traffic and constant traffic jams.
We kindly ask international charity organizations, doctors’ associations, and private persons to render assistance for buying new equipment and renovating the hospital and the operating rooms.
Your kindness and generosity can help us increase the level of rendering medical help at the hospital and save hundreds of people's lives.
